Duration: 4 Weekends / 8 Days
Content Coverage: 04 Modules

  1. MODULE 1: Research Foundation, Literature Search & Research Problem

  2. MODULE 2: Literature Review, Theoretical Framework & Research Proposal

  3. MODULE 3: Research Methodology, Data Collection & Data Analysis

  4. MODULE 4: Research Writing, AI Utilization, Publication & Researcher Development

Target Participants: Novice to Intermediate Researchers

Course Overview

This intensive Research Methodology Course is designed to provide a structured, practical, and progressive learning experience for researchers who want to develop their research skills—from identifying a research problem and searching scholarly literature to designing a study, collecting and analysing data, writing a research manuscript, and preparing for publication.

The course follows a four-module, eight-stage learning architecture. Each module combines conceptual learning with hands-on workshops so that participants progressively develop their own research project throughout the course.

By the end of the programme, participants will have developed the essential components of a research project, including a research problem, literature base, research framework, methodology, research instrument, data-analysis plan, manuscript/proposal framework, and publication plan.

Who Should Attend?

This course is particularly suitable for:

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students beginning academic research
  • MPhil and PhD researchers
  • University and college teachers
  • Early-career researchers
  • Research assistants and project staff
  • Professionals conducting academic, organisational, or applied research
  • Researchers preparing research proposals, dissertations, theses, or journal articles
  • Researchers who want to strengthen their literature-review, data-analysis, academic-writing, or publication skills

COURSE OUTPUTS

By completing the four-module programme, participants will progressively develop:

  1. A clearly defined research topic and research problem
  2. An evidence-based research gap
  3. Research aim, objectives, questions and/or hypotheses
  4. A structured literature database and literature matrix
  5. A preliminary theoretical/conceptual framework
  6. A research proposal, synopsis, or protocol
  7. A preliminary research methodology and sampling plan
  8. A research instrument for data collection
  9. A research dataset and data-analysis plan
  10. Practical experience with relevant research and statistical software
  11. A Results/Discussion framework and abstract
  12. A research manuscript/article plan
  13. A journal selection and publication plan
  14. A Mini Research Proposal / Research Article Plan for final presentation and feedback

Rather than treating research methodology as a purely theoretical subject, the programme follows a learn–practise–develop–review approach. Participants progressively apply each stage of the course to their own research interests while also working with sample literature, research instruments, datasets, statistical software, AI-assisted research tools, and manuscript-development activities.

The result is a structured learning journey in which participants do not merely learn about research methodology—they progressively build the essential components of a research project from beginning to publication.
