Managing references manually can become increasingly difficult as your research grows. Researchers often spend considerable time collecting articles, organizing PDFs, formatting citations, checking bibliographic information, and preparing reference lists.
Mendeley and Zotero can simplify this process by helping researchers collect, organize, annotate, retrieve, cite, and manage their research sources systematically. Zotero, for example, can capture sources directly from the web, organize them through collections and tags, and insert citations and bibliographies into word-processing applications. Mendeley similarly provides tools for importing and organizing references, reading and annotating PDFs, and inserting citations through Mendeley Cite.
This workshop provides a practical, hands-on introduction to reference management, with particular emphasis on using Mendeley and Zotero in real research and academic writing.
